Observing stations of mm-wave spectrometer and sodium lidar in EISCAT Tromsoe Facility .

EISCAT (European Incoherent SCATter) Tromso facility is one of the radar sites in Northern Scandinavia operated by EISCAT Scientific Association. There are VHF 4 x 30m x 40m cylindrical parabolic antenna radar, UHF 32m parabolic antenna radar, the Heating Facility, and other radio and optical instruments to study the upper atmosphere and ionosphere.
Japan joined to the EISCAT Scientific Association in 1996. Nagoya University plays a central role in Japan in collaboration with National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR). In 2010, Na lidar operated by Dr. Nozawa in ISEE, Nagoya Univeristy started operation at Tromso (http://www.isee.nagoya-u.ac.jp/~nozawa/LIDAR/).
In 2016, we installed a mm-wave spectrometer at the EISCAT Tromsoe facility. Basic specification of the spectrometer is the same as that of Syowa Station operating around 250 GHz. Steady observation will start in the middle of 2017.
This project is financially supported by JSPS international collaboration program "Zuno-junkan".
